8-year-old boy run over by Innova driver talking on phone in Bandra

An eight-year-old boy was killed after an Innova Crysta ran over him while he was about to cross John Baptist Road in Mumbai's Bandra West on Sunday.
The boy was near Jijamata Garden on John Baptist Road and was about to cross the road when the accident took place.
At around 2.15 pm, 45-year-old Megha Rawal was driving her Innova Crysta along the same road. According to the information provided, Rawal was allegedly distracted by a phone call and was driving at high speed when the vehicle collided with the boy.
Bystanders rushed the critically injured boy to nearby Holy Family Hospital in the same car that had struck him. The car was being driven by Megha Rawal. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Police arrested Megha Rawal shortly after the incident. The Bandra Police are conducting a full investigation into the crash.
