The teaser trailer for Universal Pictures’ live-action adaptation of How to Train Your Dragon has landed, offering fans their first glimpse into the visually stunning world of Berk.

The film will feature Mason Thames as the earnest Hiccup and Gerard Butler as his imposing yet loving father, Stoick the Vast.

The trailer tugs at heartstrings, showcasing the pivotal moment where Hiccup confesses his inability to kill dragons—a rite of passage for his tribe. In contrast, Stoick embodies the harsh traditions of their people, slaying the very creatures Hiccup seeks to understand.

Viewers are also treated to the iconic scene of Hiccup’s first encounter with Toothless, the Light Fury dragon whose soulful eyes and cautious movements foreshadow the deep friendship that will change both their lives -- and their world -- forever.

Nick Frost is also a part of the cast as Gobber the Belch, Stoick’s loyal friend and a quirky mentor to Berk’s youngsters.

Gerard Butler is reprising his role as Stoick the Vast, after having voiced the character in the How To Train Your Dragon trilogy.

The film will hit theatres on June 13, 2025.
