The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has postponed the release of her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, due to the wildfires in Los Angeles. The series was set to premiere on Netflix on January 15.
Meghan, a native of Los Angeles, requested the streaming platform to push the release of her series, and the streamer obliged.
“I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,” Meghan said in a statement.
According to Tudum, Netflix's official companion site, With Love, Meghan will now stream on March 4.
The eight-episode series features Meghan Markle at her candid best as she sources food from her kitchen garden and prepares delicacies for her friends and family. Her guests include Roy Choi, Mindy Kaling, Alice Waters, and several others.
“Produced by Meghan, With Love, Meghan blends practical how-to’s and candid conversation with friends, new and old. Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection, and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected. She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same," read the official description of the series.
In addition to delaying the release of her show, Meghan, along with her husband Prince Harry, have opened up their home to friends and family who were forced to evacuate due to the fires.
The wildfires, which began on January 7, have displaced more than 100,000 people in Los Angeles so far, with the Palisades and Eaton Fires continuing to burn in the region. At least 24 people have died, and 16 others have been reported missing.
Mansions of several A-list celebrities, including the likes of Paris Hilton and Mandy Moore, have been destroyed in the fire.
In addition to offering shelter, Meghan and Harry are working with their Archewell Foundation to determine how they can best assist those affected.
