Mahindra clocks 59,257 SUV sales in August, registers 50% growth
Mahindra recorded strong sales growth in August 2026, with domestic SUV sales rising 50% to 59,257 units, while total vehicle sales climbed 42% to 1,07,648 units.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has reported strong sales performance for August 2026, with total vehicle sales, including exports, reaching 1,07,648 units, up 42% year-on-year.
The automaker’s SUV portfolio continued to drive growth during the month. Mahindra sold 59,257 utility vehicles in the domestic market, registering a 50% increase compared with August 2025. Including exports, overall utility vehicle sales stood at 61,167 units.
The company’s passenger vehicle sales, which comprise utility vehicles, also stood at 59,257 units in the domestic market, compared with 39,399 units in August 2025.
For the first eight months of the financial year, Mahindra recorded 2,94,050 domestic utility vehicle sales, compared with 2,41,337 units during the corresponding period last year, representing a 22% year-on-year growth.
Commercial vehicle sales also grow
Mahindra’s commercial vehicle business recorded growth across key segments in August. Domestic sales of light commercial vehicles below 2 tonnes stood at 3,999 units, up 37% from 2,925 units in August 2025.
Sales of LCVs between 2 tonnes and 3.5 tonnes increased 20% to 23,416 units, compared with 19,502 units in the same month last year. On a year-to-date basis, sales in this segment stood at 1,08,350 units, up 19% from 90,834 units.
The company also reported strong demand for its three-wheelers, including electric three-wheelers. Sales in the segment rose 42% year-on-year to 14,922 units, compared with 10,527 units in August 2025. YTD sales reached 65,715 units, representing a 62% increase over the 40,561 units sold during the corresponding period last year.
Exports surge 71%
Mahindra’s export performance also strengthened in August. The company exported 6,054 vehicles during the month, a 71% increase over the 3,548 units exported in August 2025.
For the first eight months of the financial year, total exports stood at 26,012 units, up 63% from 15,983 units in the corresponding period last year.
Commenting on the performance, Dr Velusamy R, President, Automotive Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said that SUV sales reached 59,257 units in August, delivering 50% growth, while total vehicle sales grew 42% to 1,07,648 units.
He added that demand remained strong across Mahindra’s portfolio, with the updated Scorpio-N and BE 6 Sporteq receiving a strong response from customers. The company expects to build on this momentum during the upcoming festive season.
Mahindra’s August performance was supported by growth across SUVs, commercial vehicles, three-wheelers and exports, with the company recording double-digit growth in several key segments.
