Toxic box office Day 7: Yash film powers past Rs 313 crore globally despite slowdown

Actor Yash's Toxic added to its domestic and overseas takings on Day 7, taking the worldwide total to Rs 313.55 crore. The Geetu Mohandas film has stayed steady through mixed reviews and the weekday slowdown.

Actor Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups continues to hold its ground at the box office. After six days of theatrical run, the Geetu Mohandas directorial has crossed the Rs 300-crore mark globally and, on Day 7, pushed its worldwide collection to Rs 313.55 crore despite mixed reviews, criticism and the expected weekday slowdown.

According to trade website Sacnilk, Toxic added Rs 8.20 crore to its India nett collection on Day 7 from 12,892 shows. The film's domestic nett total now stands at Rs 229.95 crore, while its India gross collection has reached Rs 272.80 crore.

The Yash-led film also maintained its overseas momentum, earning an additional Rs 1.50 crore on Day 7. Its cumulative overseas gross now stands at Rs 40.75 crore, taking its worldwide gross collection to Rs 313.55 crore.

With the film now past the Rs 310-crore mark worldwide, Rs 320 crore is the next major milestone in sight. On the domestic front, Toxic has already crossed the Rs 225-crore India nett mark and is now eyeing the Rs 250-crore milestone.

Language-wise, the Day 7 India nett collection stood at Rs 5.60 crore from Hindi, Rs 1.75 crore from Kannada, Rs 60 lakh from Telugu, Rs 5 lakh from Malayalam and Rs 20 lakh from Tamil.

Toxic opened its global run on a strong note, collecting Rs 20 crore overseas on Day 1, followed by Rs 8 crore on Day 2 and Rs 3.50 crore on Day 3. By the end of Day 5, its overseas gross had reached Rs 29.25 crore, before adding another Rs 2 crore on Day 6 to take the international total to Rs 39.25 crore.

The film opened to Rs 101.10 crore worldwide on Day 1, reportedly surpassing the opening-day benchmark of Dhurandhar Part 1 and giving Yash another significant box-office record.

With its worldwide haul now at Rs 313.55 crore, Toxic has established a strong international footprint and will look to sustain its momentum through its second weekend.

Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups also features actors Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, Huma Qureshi and Akshay Oberoi in key roles. The film released in theatres on August 26.
