Video: Woman threatens to jump off balcony after fight with partner over reality show

A dramatic video showing a young woman threatening to jump from the balcony of a high-rise apartment in Greater Noida has gone viral on social media, with police saying the incident followed an argument between the couple over a scene in the reality show Lock Upp.
The footage shows a man standing inside the balcony of the flat, desperately trying to pull the woman to safety, while residents of the building recorded the incident.
Police said they took cognisance of the viral video and reached the society to question the couple. No untoward incident was reported and officials said the situation is now under control.
According to Bisrakh Station House Officer (SHO) Munendra Singh, the incident took place on July 26 in an 18th-floor flat at Aims Green Avenue Society in Greater Noida West.
The couple seen in the video has been identified as Garima and Mohit, both residents of Meerut, who were living together by mutual consent.
During the preliminary investigation, police found that the couple had been watching the reality show Lock Upp when they got into an argument over a particular scene because they held differing views. In the course of the altercation, the woman went to the balcony and was later seen hanging from it, leading to the dramatic rescue attempt captured on video.
The footage quickly spread across social media, prompting police intervention. Officers questioned both individuals after arriving at the society and said there was no law and order issue at the spot.
