  • Vicky accepted her decision and agreed to let her live with her lover

A Prantiya Rakshak Dal jawan in Lucknow handed his wife over to her childhood lover after she refused to return to her husband and insisted on living with her longtime partner.

The Prantiya Rakshak Dal is a security force in Uttar Pradesh, established in 1948 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

The woman, Sonali, had been in a relationship with her lover since their school days. The two studied and grew up together, and their friendship gradually turned into love.

About a year ago, Sonali’s family arranged her marriage to Vicky, a PRD jawan. However, she remained in contact with her childhood lover after the marriage, and the two continued talking regularly over the phone.

On September 5, Sonali suddenly went missing from her in-laws’ home. Her family searched for her but could not find any trace of her. Worried, Vicky filed a missing-person complaint at the police station.

Police issued alerts in nearby districts and intensified the search. They eventually traced Sonali’s location to Hardoi. On Wednesday, police recovered her from Hardoi along with her lover.

At the police station, police brought both sides face-to-face and held discussions for hours. Family members and police personnel tried every possible way to convince Sonali to return to her husband, but she remained firm about staying with her lover.

Sonali clearly told them that she did not want to live with her husband even for a moment and wanted to spend her life with her lover.

Vicky was stunned for a while after hearing this, but he understood the situation. Instead of forcing her to continue the marriage, he told her, “There is no force in this. Stay with whoever makes you happy.”

After this, both sides completed the necessary legal formalities with mutual consent. The couple then took seven rounds at a local temple according to Hindu rituals.

Vicky himself handed his wife over to her lover.
