There are two unwritten rules every Marvel fan knows: stay for the post-credit scenes and don't spoil the movie for others. One moviegoer broke the second, and the screening of Spider-Man: Brand New Day ended in chaos instead of applause.
According to a post shared on X, four friends had gone to watch Spider-Man: Brand New Day when another moviegoer, who had reportedly already seen the film once, allegedly began revealing major plot points to the person accompanying him.
The post claimed that the man continued dropping spoilers throughout the screening, much to the frustration of those seated nearby.
A video circulating online appears to capture the aftermath of the confrontation inside the theatre. Several people can be seen arguing loudly near the seats as other viewers turn around to see what is happening.
Within moments, the verbal exchange allegedly escalates into a physical altercation, with people pushing and shoving each other while startled audience members look on. The commotion briefly disrupts the screening before others step in to separate those involved.

The post further claimed that the man kept revealing upcoming scenes, prompting the group of friends to confront him. What reportedly began as an argument over spoilers soon snowballed into chaos inside the theatre.
The incident has sparked amused as well as divided reactions online. While many users joked that spoiling a Marvel film was "asking for trouble", others pointed out that resorting to violence over a movie is never justified.
Several users also urged moviegoers to be mindful of those watching a film for the first time and avoid discussing key moments inside the theatre.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks Tom Holland's fourth standalone outing as the web-slinger in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film follows the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home and features an ensemble cast including Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Mando and Tramell Tillman.
