Actor Shah Rukh Khan greeted fans from his balcony on his 61st birthday. As fans gathered to get a glimpse of the superstar, he acknowledged them with his signature pose.
Stepping out onto his balcony to greet a ocean of cheering fans has long transcended mere tradition for Shah Rukh Khan— it is an annual pilgrimage of stardom. The grand spectacle of thousands converging outside Mannat was famously showcased to global audiences in Netflix’s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction (2019), where veteran host David Letterman marvelled at the sheer scale of the frenzy.
Observing the sea of humanity moving in unison, Letterman observed that the phenomenon perfectly encapsulates why the actor’s moniker – "King," isn’t just a title. It symbolises Shah Rukh's undisputed reign over the silver screen.
Earlier, Shah Rukh returned the love of fans waiting outside the Taj hotel in South Mumbai on his 61st birthday. The superstar, who reportedly celebrated the occasion with family and close friends at the hotel, was greeted by loud cheers and shouts of “I love you” as he stepped out in the early hours of Monday.
Before getting into his car, SRK waved at the crowd and blew kisses, sending fans into a frenzy.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh will next be seen in director Siddharth Anand's King. The upcoming film features actors Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, and Raghav Juyal in key roles. In addition to Kareena, actors Rani Mukerji and Deepika Padukone will also make special appearances in the film.
Kareena has confirmed her appearance in King. Marking Shah Rukh's 61st birthday on November 2, Kareena shared a dramatic teaser glimpse of their dance sequence from the Siddharth Anand directorial.
Wishing Shah Rukh on his special day, Kareena captioned her post: "Happy Birthday King... The forever Ruler of the kingdom... Let's dance together... Can't wait... 24-12-26 (sic)."
Adding to the birthday celebrations, the makers also unveiled the film's first song, Tu Mil Jaaye, featuring Shah Rukh and Deepika, at midnight on November 2. While sharing the track online, Shah Rukh wrote, "This era of love is bestowed upon the fortunate ones... Where roses bloom amidst the fragrance of gunpowder. Of Love and other Battles. This December, #LoveLikeAKing #TuMilJaaye song out now! #KING in cinemas 24.12.26 (sic)."
The midnight song release follows the unveiling of the film’s high-octane poster a week prior.
