Police and the Special Task Force (STF) have busted an illegal mini gun factory operating inside a house in Bihar’s Nawada district and arrested the alleged operator. The joint raid followed a tip-off in Banganga village.

During the raid, the team recovered a country-made pistol, semi-finished firearms, four live cartridges and a large quantity of equipment used to manufacture illegal weapons. The accused’s son managed to escape and is currently on the run.

The arrested accused has been identified as Vinesh Vishwakarma, a native of Jarain village under the Sare police station area in Nalanda district, who was currently residing in Banganga village. His son, Dilip Vishwakarma, allegedly helped him run the illegal operation.

During a search of the house, police seized a grinder machine, a welding machine, a pillar drilling machine, a bench vice, 15 moulds used to manufacture country-made pistols, gun barrels, semi-finished firearm bodies and butts. Three live cartridges of .32 calibre and one 8 mm cartridge were also recovered.

During questioning, Vinesh allegedly revealed that he had been running the illegal arms manufacturing business for the past three to four years. Police suspect that the weapons were manufactured for sale to criminals and gangs.

An FIR has been registered at Naradiganj police station under relevant sections of the law. Police are conducting raids to arrest Dilip Vishwakarma and identify other people linked to the illegal arms manufacturing and supply network. Further questioning of the arrested accused is underway to establish where the weapons were being supplied.
