Aamir Khan has shared new details about his upcoming wedding to partner Gauri Spratt. The actor revealed that the couple plans to keep the ceremony intimate and low-key.

Khan, who recently confirmed that he and Gauri are set to marry on July 5, said they have opted for a simple registered wedding surrounded by close family and friends.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, he said the couple has no plans for a grand celebration and instead wants the occasion to be a private affair.

"It will be a very simple registered marriage at home, with just both the families and really close friends. We both want to keep it very basic," the 61-year-old actor said.

Khan first introduced Spratt to the media on his 60th birthday earlier this year, officially confirming their relationship. Since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting details about the couple's wedding plans.

While the actor has clarified that the ceremony will be a close-knit gathering, it remains to be seen whether some of his closest industry friends, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and other Bollywood colleagues, will be part of the celebrations.

When Aamir Khan confirmed his wedding

Earlier, in an interview with Variety India, the Lagaan actor had confirmed his wedding to Spratt.

"Yes, that is true. But now we both feel we are ready to take our relationship to the next level," Khan shared.

The superstar said that he is already married to Spratt in his heart and this wedding is just like "a natural progression of their partnership."

"I am at peace. Gauri and I are serious about each other and we are in a very committed space. We are partners, we are together. In my heart, I'm already married to her," he added.

Gauri Spratt, who hails from Bengaluru and is associated with the wellness and beauty industry, has a seven-year-old son, Quinn, from her previous marriage. She is also the granddaughter of Philip Spratt, a British-born Communist who came to India in the 1920s and later became involved in India's freedom movement.

Aamir was previously married to Reena Dutta, with whom he shares two children, Junaid and Ira. He later married filmmaker Kiran Rao, and they have a son, Azad.
