In a long note accompanying the post, Kapoor described Main Vaapas Aaunga as a love story set against the backdrop of the Partition and said it stayed with her long after it ended. Ektaa Kapoor's review of Main Vaapas Aaunga

Kapoor said she took a full day to decide what to write because she did not want to get "a single word wrong". "A film that the world is going to witness in June, I got to experience in May. And let me tell you, even a month before its release, all I want to say is: you have no idea what’s coming next (sic)," she wrote.

Calling the film emotional, timeless and deeply moving, Kapoor wrote that the story shows how generations may think, live and love differently, but that it all leads back to the same thing: falling in love. She said the film creates a rare sense of nostalgia and brings back memories of the one person people never got closure with, the one left behind with unfinished promises, and the one they may remember for the rest of their lives.

Kapoor continued, "This film leaves you with a heart-wrenching kind of love, the kind two people must have felt in a time when there were no mobile phones, no digital media, just longing, patience, and emotions that stayed forever (sic)."

She said that Imtiaz Ali is in "top form" and said composer AR Rahman's music is "pure magic".

She praised Diljit Dosanjh's "restrained performance", saying he conveys emotion and duality through his eyes while playing a young man unsure of how to express himself, what to commit to, and how to deal with his relationships.

Kapoor called Vedang Raina the film's "surprise package" and an "outstanding breakout performance", adding that he would win hearts as a "sardarji".

She also praised Sharvari's screen presence and said her eyes express every emotion with grace and honesty. For Naseeruddin Shah, Kapoor said he is simply an icon and that words fall short of his talent.

How Sharvari and Vedang Raina responded

Sharvari reacted to Kapoor's post by writing, "Thank you sooo much ma'am!! This means so much to me (sic)." Vedang thanked Kapoor for her words and wrote, "You’re too kind, thank you so much ma’am (sic)."
