Southwest Monsoon Enters Coastal Odisha: IMD

Bhubaneswar: The Southwest monsoon has entered Odisha through the northernmost part of the state, informed the the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The monsoon is likely to advance to some parts of Odisha in the next 2 to 3 days, the Meteorological Center said.
As per the MeT department,the monsoon has entered several coastal districts including Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, and Balasore. With the arrival of the monsoon, rainfall is likely to occur in some parts of North Odisha.

Orange warning has been issued for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Puri, Khordha and Nayagarh districts for the next 24 hours.
There is a possibility of rain and lightning in all these districts along with winds blowing at a speed of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour.
Even before the official onset of the monsoon, many parts of Odisha have already been receiving pre-monsoon showers over the last few days.
