New Delhi: India expressed its ire at Pakistan’s border strikes inside Afghanistan.

India condemned them as a violation of Afghanistan’s sovereignty and a threat to the peace in the region.

India has lashed out at Pakistan for the recent aerial attacks it launched into Afghanistan, condemning it as an “act of unprovoked aggression”.

“We condemn this act as a brazen act of provocation by Pakistan and a clear example of this country’s persistent pattern of reckless behaviour that is entirely outside the accepted norms of state conduct”, the MEA stated.

The bombings purportedly took place in Afghanistan’s eastern provinces.

According to local officials, it resulted in the deaths of at least 36 civilians

Among the victims there were women and children accounted for — and more than 160 wounded.

However, Pakistani officials said they were retaliating against militant bases where the perpetrators of recent attacks within the country were sheltered.

India also shared its condolences with the victims of the bombings and said it fully supported Afghan sovereignty.
