Delhi Police arrest man over ai-generated fake poster

New Delhi: A 24-year-old has been arrested by Delhi Police for allegedly fabricating and sharing an AI-generated fake poster showing a police officer sexually abusing a woman.

The accused, namely Nadeem Ahmed Ameen, was responsible for disseminating the fake material on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram.

According to the police, the material was misused by claiming Vivek Bhagat’s identity, who is an ACP, amid existingsexual harassment allegations against police personnel during a protest recently.

Nadeem was, police said, an independent journalist who ran a social-media news outlet with some 24,000 followers.

Investigators are examining the alleged motive behind the AI-generated content and whether other people were involved in creating or circulating it.

Following his arrest yesterday, he was taken to a court and handed over to the police, who are now holding him while investigating.
