Supreme Court cancels Sonam Raghuvanshi’s bail in Meghalaya honeymoon murder case

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday revoked the bail of Sonam Raghuvanshi, the prime suspect in the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case,

She was directed to surrender before the trial court within three weeks and the criminal proceedings to proceed with her in custody.

A Bench of Justices M.M. Sundresh and P.B.Varale allowed the Meghalaya government’s appeal against an order granting her bail.

“We find that the respondent (Sonam Raghuvanshi) is not entitled to any bail in the matter and set aside the order granting bail,” the apex court said.

Sonam Raghuvanshi is accused of conspiring to kill her husband Raja Raghuvanshi during their honeymoon in Meghalaya in May 2025.

She has been arrested along with other accused after which the criminal case against them, attracted widespread attention for its sensational details.

The Supreme Court had questioned Songm’s conduct on Tuesday and had indicated that it should surrender herself when certain witnesses for prosecution would be examined.
