The Department of School Education, Karnataka has invited applications for recruitment for 900 posts of general Kannada teachers across the state. The official notification has been released. The selected candidates will be posted across different educational districts to teach students in primary schools from Classes 1 to 5.

Eligible and interested candidates required to refer to the notification applicable to their respective district before submitting an application.

The candidate need to have cleared the required Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) to be able to apply for the Karnataka Teacher Recruitment 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must have secured at least 50 per cent marks in Pre-University Course (PUC) and cleared the required Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted either by the Karnataka state government or the Central Government.

As part of the academic eligibility requirements, candidates must have secured at least 50 per cent marks in Pre-University Course (PUC). The candidate should have done a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd), a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd) or a two-year Diploma in Education in Special Education.

The eligible examinations include the Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) and the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET).

Candidates should ensure that they meet the TET requirement in addition to fulfilling the prescribed academic and professional qualifications.

• Click on the notification to read carefully about the details
• Fill in the application form as per the district-wise notification, and upload documents
• Pay the application fee if applicable
• Submit the application form
• Download the submitted application form and take a printout for future reference.
