Lady IIC Beauty Mohanty death case:Know what post-mortem report reveals

Cuttack: The post-mortem report of Chauliaganj Police Station IIC Beauty Mohanty was released on Tuesday, revealing that the officer died due to asphyxia.

Cuttack DCP Rishikesh Dnyandeo Khilari stated there is no sign of foul play. There are no other external injuries on the body. However, the DCP stated that expert opinion will be taken. We are waiting for the Viscera report.

The family members, Police personnel at the station and acquaintances are being questioned. The mysterious death of Beauty Mohanty, the IIC of Cuttack’s Chauliaganj police station, has sent shockwaves across the entire state, including the Odisha Police Department.

The Commissionerate Police has seized two mobile phones belonging to Mohanty including an i-phone and sent it to the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) for examination. Police have requested the SFSL to retrieve all the data including the deleted chats as early as possible hoping to find some information regarding her suicide.

Meanwhile, police received the call detail records (CDR) from the telecom service providers concerned. According to reports, the last call to the lady cop was from his husband. The police are also probing financial aspects, suspecting a money dispute may be linked to the case.

A special team comprising an Additional DCP, an ACP, and two senior inspectors is leading the investigation.

Mohanty was found hanging inside her official restroom located on the upper floor of Chauliaganj police station on Saturday morning. She was found hanging by other police personnel, who broke down the door to her restroom when she did not respond for a long time.

She was immediately rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital, but doctors declared her dead on arrival.
