This year, the worship holds special significance due to the convergence of the Ashtami and Navami tithis (lunar days). According to the almanac (panjika), the Ashtami Tithi (eighth lunar day) will continue until approximately 10:51 AM today, after which the Navami Tithi (ninth lunar day) will commence. Consequently, at various puja mandaps (worship pavilions), special rituals for Maha Ashtami and Maha Navami will be conducted in accordance with local almanacs and prescribed worship procedures.

On the occasion of Maha Navami, religious rites such as Shodasha Upachara Puja (worship with sixteen offerings), Pushpanjali (offering of flowers), Chandi Patha (recitation of the Chandi), Homa-Yajna (sacrificial fire rituals), and Aarati hold special significance.
