6 injured in blast while making firecrackers in Nayagarh

Nayagarh: At least six people including two women were injured in a blast while they are making firecrackers in Korada village under Nuagaon police limits in Daspalla area of Nayagarh district.

Sources revealed that the firecrackers were being made for the upcoming lankapodi utsav that will take place on April 7, when the blast occurred.

The injured people have been admitted at the Nayagarh hospital for treatment. Later, they were transferred to Cuttack for better treatment.

The locals revealed that the blast made a loud sound and was so powerful that all the things in the house were destroyed. Hearing the loud sound, the neighbours rushed to the spot. Following the blast, the entire area was covered with black smoke.

On being informed, the police reached the spot and is investigating the incident.
