Cuttack: Three college students go missing after drowning in Mahanadi River, search operation underway

Cuttack: In an unfortunate incident, at least three college students went missing reportedly after drowning in the Mahanadi River in Cuttack this evening.

According to reports, a group of college students from the Nayabazar area of Cuttack had reportedly gone to the river side at Satabatia in Jagatpur area. However, four of them drowned and went missing after entering the river.

On being informed, two units of fire service personnel from Chauliaganja rushed to the spot, swung into action and successfully rescued one of them. The search operation is still underway to trace and rescue the other three missing students.

Sharing information about the rescue operation, Cuttack AFO said, “Rescue operation is still going on. Aska light have been used due to night. Staffs were using under-water BA (Breathing Apparatus) set. A total of three teams have been engaged in this rescue operation.”
