IMD issues seven days of rain warnings for Odisha, check details

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued rain warnings for seven days in Odisha. For this, the weather department has sounded both yellow and orange warnings.

As predicted by the IMD, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind will continue in the state till 8.30 AM of June 14.

Check the day and district wise warnings:

Day 1 (Valid upto 8.30 AM of June 8):

  • ORANGE WARNING: Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 50-60 kmph) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Koraput, and Malkangiri.
  • YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 40-50 kmph) very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Kendrapara, Jagatsinghapur, Cuttack, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, and Nayagarh.

Day 2 (Valid from 8.30 AM of June 8 to 8.30 AM of June 9):

  • ORANGE WARNING: Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 50-60 kmph) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Koraput, and Malkangiri.
  • YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 40-50 kmph) very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghapur, Cuttack, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, and Nayagarh.
