New Delhi: Australian authorities have reportedly launched a probe into an online death threat targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of his scheduled visit to Melbourne.

According to reports, the threat was posted on social media and flagged by security agencies. Melbourne Police have registered a case and are working to trace the IP address and identity of the person behind the post.

Cybercrime experts are examining the account and digital footprints linked to the threat.
