New Delhi: India has extended an invitation to all the ten members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), including Pakistan, for its first Civilisational Dialogue Forum to be held in Delhi from November 20-22.

As per reports, Pakistan’s Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi has been invited for the event.

The invitation to Khichi is issued at a time when the ties have soured between the two countries after the launch of Operation Sindoor by India in May 2025 following the Pahalgam terror strike.

If Khichi visits India, he would be the first senior Pakistani miniser to visit India since Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari visited Goa for an SCO conference in May 2023.

The idea was announced at the SCO council of heads of government meeting held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on October 20. Through this platform, increased dialogue on cultural and social issues among member countries was planned.

A total of 10 countries: India, Pakistan, China, Russia, Belarus, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
