Sanaa: Yemen’s internationally recognised government said its forces carried out strikes against Houthi-controlled areas in Sanaa and Saada, in the latest escalation of fighting in the country.
A spokesperson for Yemen’s armed forces said the strikes targeted what the government described as “vital targets” belonging to the Houthis.
Details about the specific targets and damage were not immediately released.
The strikes followed a claim by the Houthi group that it had launched ballistic missiles and drones at an Aramco facility in Riyadh.

The group said the attack was carried out in retaliation for Saudi strikes on Sanaa and other areas under Houthi control.
A large plume of smoke and fire was reportedly seen near an Aramco facility in Riyadh. However, Saudi authorities and Aramco had not immediately confirmed that the facility itself was hit.
The latest exchange comes amid a broader deterioration in the Yemen conflict, with fighting intensifying between the Saudi-backed internationally recognised government and the Iran-aligned Houthis.
The renewed hostilities are also raising concerns over Red Sea shipping and regional energy infrastructure.
