9 missing after flash floods hit Arunachal Pradesh, rescue operation underway

Itanagar: Nine people have reportedly gone missing after flash floods hits Arunachal Pradesh’s Dibang Valley district. The flash flood was caused by Sisiri river.

As per reports, efforts are being made to find the people who went missing during the incident. They are also working to rescue the people who have been left stranded.

Rescue work faced problems when a rubber boat carrying seven search team members and three rescued people was swept away by strong currents. During the rescue operation, the boat in which the rescue team and the person who was being taken to a safe place after being rescued swept away in flood.

The district administration is working to find the missing and evacuate stranded people. They are using boats and three elephants to reach flood-hit and hard-to-access areas.

Meanwhile, the IMD said yesterday that conditions are good for the southwest monsoon to move into several northern states over the next five to six days.

According to the reports, Delhi recorded its warmest morning in two years due to delayed rainfall.

The IMD has informed that monsoon is most likely to hit the North Arabian Sea and some areas of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the coming two to three days.

It is being said that it may reach parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and southeast Rajasthan

The IMD also warned of heatwave conditions, possibly severe, in Uttar Pradesh on July 28 and 29. Delhi is likely to see the monsoon arrive on July 4 if conditions stay favorable.
