Terror Attack In Jammu And Kashmir’s Anantnag, policeman shot dead

Srinagar: A 35-year-old policeman was shot dead when suspected terrorists opened fire at a police party in Anantnag town of Jammu and Kashmir.

The deceased has been identified as Aashiq Hussain Qureshi, a head constable.

The firing took place around 12.30 pm at Lal Chowk in Anantnag, the officials said.

As per reports, he was posted on duty when he was killed in the attack. He was immediately rushed to the Government Medical College hospital at Anantnag. But the doctors declared him brought dead.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched an operation to track down the terrorists.
