New Delhi: A 41-year-old MBA holder from Bengaluru was arrested by the police after being discovered hiding inside a box bed during a raid in an alleged fake currency case.
According to the police, the accused, identified as Rudresh, was believed to be printing and supplying fake 500 notes in Bengaluru, Tumakuru, and their surrounding areas.
Investigations in the case began on July 2, after the accused used a counterfeit 500 note to purchase cigarettes at a shop in Huliyaru village.
Following information about his use of a fake currency note, a team from the Huliyaru Police arrived at the accused’s residence in Sampige Layout in Gangondanahalli.
The officers were reportedly initially confronted by Rudresh’s parents, and despite an initial inspection, the accused was not to be found.
Later, a second thorough check of the house led the police to the accused, who was found tucked away inside a box bed’s storage compartment.

This is not the first time Rudresh has been arrested.
He was previously caught in February 2024 as part of a fake currency case busted by Davanagere Police.
Investigators said that the accused and his associates allegedly circulated almost Rs 20 lakh in counterfeit currency notes before their arrest.
Police now suspect the accused restarted the illegal operation after his release from custody.
They said that another accomplice in the case is still absconding and is being traced.
Huliyaru Police have registered a case against the accused and are questioning him to identify other members of the fake currency network.
