Mercedes-Benz CLA EV with 792km range launched in India at Rs 55 lakh

Mercedes-Benz has launched the next-gen CLA electric at a base price of Rs 55 lakh. The brand has claimed that the EV can deliver a range of up to 792km when fully charged. The deliveries of the new Mercedes-Benz CLA electric will begin from June this year.
Exterior Design
The next-gen CLA sports an eye catching look that screams Mercedez everywhere starting from the closed grille at the front that sports a star logo of the company and 142 similar stars and air vents. The star design has also been implemented in the DRLs as the Mercedes-Benz CLA gets a connected light setup with star-shaped DRLs.
The sedan features flush-fitting door handles, thick cladding, fixed panoramic sunroof, 18-inch tyres along with connected star-shaped LED bits in the tail section.
Interior Design, Features
Inside the cabin, the CLA EV features a MBUX Hyperscreen, which is powered by AI‑enhanced technology and the new MB.OS system. It comprises a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless connectivity, 10.25-inch instrument cluster, and a third co-driver entertainment screen. This Hyperscreen also comes with facial recognition and video calling (dedicated camera hardware).
It is packed with an array of features to ensure the passengers get a comfortable ride. It packs an eight-way powered driver seat with three-point memory, heated front row, 40:20:40 split-folding second row, pre-entry climate control, 40-litre frunk, tilt- and telescopic-adjustable steering column, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming IRVM, and auto hold. It also have some AI integrated features such as MB.Assistant with ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing, and Google Gemini integration.
The Launch Edition is offered with illuminated door sills, leather upholstery and edition-specific trims, 19-inch tyres with edition-specific alloys, night package, and ambient lighting.

Powertrains
Based on the MMA platform, the Mercedes CLA EV is offered in three configurations – CLA 200 Progressive Line with a 58kWh battery, CLA 250+ Launch Edition with cosmetic upgrades, and CLA 250+ AMG Line with an 85.5kWh battery. The CLA 200 Progressive Line offers a 548km range and the CLA 250+ AMG Line delivers up to 792km range. Peak power output stands at 268bhp/335Nm.
The Mercedes CLA EV has advanced 800‑volt architecture that supports DC fast charging of up to 320kW and can gain up to 400 km of range in around 20 minutes in 240kW DC fast‑charging stations.
It has three driving modes, as well as a user-defined custom mode. The CLA EV also has a two-speed EV transmission that uses an 11:1 gear for acceleration, and 5:1 for efficient highway cruising.
Safety features in the Mercedes CLA include eight airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, highline TPMS, ADAS with front collision warning, lane keep assist, front collision warning, blind-spot monitor, evasive steering for vulnerable road users, AVAS, and high beam assist. Mercedes offers a warranty coverage of eight years/1.6 lakh kilometres.
Price, variants
The CLA 200 trim has a price tag of Rs 55 lakh, while the CLA 250+ is priced at Rs 59 lakh tag, and the Launch Edition that costs Rs 64 lakh (all ex-showroom). The company will start deliveries for the CLA 200 in June 2026, while the range-topping CLA 250+ will be delivered from end-April, 2026.
