Kotpad Assistant Executive Engineer under vigilance scanner in DA case, Raids underway at 7 locations

Jeypore: Odisha Vigilance is conducting simultaneous searches at seven locations connected to Satyanarayan Sethy, the Assistant Executive Engineer of Kotpad in Odisha’s Koraput district,  over allegations of possessing disproportionate assets.

The raids are being conducted at seven locations across multiple districts including Khordha, Koraput and Kendrapara to assess the engineer’s assets. The rais is being carried out by seven Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), nine Inspectors, and 11 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and other staff members.

Odisha Vigilance is conducting searches at Sethy’s official government residence in Kotpad, his office premises located within Kotpad, a rented house situated in the Parabeda area of Jeypore along with his flat in Hightech plaza in Khordha’s Jatani area, as well as his ancestral home located at Derabish in the Kendrapara district.

Preliminary investigation indicated that the engineer owns agricultural land situated at Taragaon mouza under Borigumma tehsil.

Vigilance officials conducted the raids is to verify bank details, land records, and physical valuations of the properties to determine if the accumulated wealth matches the known sources of income of the AEE.

The vigilance has reportedly seized more than Rs 5 Lakh cash from his properties.
