BMW has paused the bookings for the BMW F 450 GS in India temporarily as it witnessed huge demand following it’s launch in the country. This development took place even before the commencement of deliveries.

The reason behind the halt in bookings is because the first few batches that were allotted to India have already been booked. The booking window is expected to reopen around September-October 2026.

Meanwhile, the waiting period for the motorcycle is staggeringly long, which shows the huge demand for the motorcycle. Some dealers in Mumbai and Bengaluru have claimed that the waiting period for the bike has reached nearly a year. Meanwhile, the showrooms in other cities like Kolkata and Hyderabad had a waiting period of somewhere between six and eight months.

That means if you want to buy the F450GS now then you might need to wait nearly a year to get the motorcycle.

Even after the next booking window opens later this year, the waiting period from then onwards will be around 6-8 months in almost every city. Customers who had booked the bike between November and December last year are expected to get their motorcycles from next month onwards.

This could either be an indication of high demand or slow production of the bike by TVS at its Hosur facility. We have been noticing a similar situation with the TVS Apache RTX, another bike being produced at the same Hosur plant, which also has a long waiting period. Now, whether this is due to some hiccups at the production end or exports of the 450 to the international markets are taking first priority is still not known.
