Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has made elaborate security arrangements to ensure peaceful and orderly conduct of Durga Puja idol immersion processions and Ravana Dahan celebrations in the city.
As part of the restrictions, DJ systems and DJ-mounted vehicles will be strictly prohibited during immersion processions, with only traditional musical instruments permitted.
The police have also imposed restrictions on playing music after 10 pm in accordance with noise pollution regulations. Organisers violating the prescribed rules will face legal action, including the registration of criminal cases.
For the smooth management of immersion processions, around 48 platoons of police force and nearly 100 officers will be deployed across the city.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) has made it clear that DJ-mounted vehicles will not be permitted under any circumstances during the immersion processions.
Puja committees and organisers have been instructed to use traditional musical instruments and comply with the prescribed regulations governing sound systems and loudspeakers. Playing music beyond 10 pm will be prohibited under applicable noise pollution norms.

The authorities have granted permission for Ravana Dahan celebrations at nine locations. Fire safety measures and crowd management arrangements will be put in place at each venue to prevent untoward incidents.
The Commissionerate Police has appealed to all puja committees and organisers to complete their immersion processions as early as possible and extend full cooperation to the police personnel deployed on duty.
Organisers have been urged to strictly follow administrative guidelines and ensure that celebrations remain peaceful, disciplined and free from disruptions.
With extensive security deployment, restrictions on loud music and designated immersion points, the police aim to ensure that both Durga Puja immersion processions and Ravana Dahan celebrations conclude peacefully and safely.
