Apple has upgraded the latest versions of the iPad Pro and iPad mini with OLED screens. However, it did not freshen the display of the current 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air, which still come with LCD panels. However, this might soon change if the recent leak reports about the iPad Air are to be believed.

According to latest reports, industry sources in Korea are claiming that Apple is planning to introduced the first OLED iPad Air models in the first half of 2027. This also alligns with the earlier reports about the iPad Air.

The sources have reported that the 2027 OLED iPad could have a possible shipment of 3 to 4 million Pro units, 4 to 5 million mini units, and 4 to 5 million Air units.

Meanwhile, they have also added that Samsung Display will supply the mini panels and for the bulk of the Air order alongside BOE. The panels for the Pro models could be sourced majorly from LG Display accompanied by Samsung Display. BOE is said to be chasing one of the two Air sizes.

Apple is also expected to keep a clear gap between the Pro and the cheaper OLED models. The Pro will stick with tandem OLED and LTPO, while the mini and Air are using single-stack OLED with LTPS.

However, all of these information remain as speculations.
