2 killed, several injured in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa explosion

New Delhi: A powerful explosion took place in which at least two people lost their lives and several people got injured in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa yesterday.

As per reports, it is being said that a local leader was also about to become victim of the incident but narrowly escaped the explosion.

The nature of the explosion, whether it was a targeted attack or not is yet to be known as it is not disclosed.

Following the incident, the bodies of the deceased and injured were taken to a hospital.

The police has started an investigation to determine the cause of the blast and has also started collecting evidence from the incident site.

Previously, many attacks have been carried out in the region and Pakistan’s federal government has claimed that it was done by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). This happened after ceasefire agreement of November 2022 expired.

This incident comes following a deadly attack in the same province on July 24. a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a security checkpoint in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It killed 15 security personnel, including 12 soldiers, two police personnel and a former Forest Department official, according to reports.
