Schools to remain closed in view of the incessant rain

Kataka: All Government, Government-aided, and Private Schools functioning under the territorial jurisdiction of Athagada Sub-Division, shall remain closed tomorrow in view of the incessant rain and water logging in several areas.

The decision to close the schools was taken in order to ensure the safety and security of the citizens and to mitigate any untoward incidents, in the interest of public safety and the well-being of students.

A notification issued by the district Collector read that in view of the incessant rain and water logging in several areas of Athagada Sub-Division, to ensure the safety and security of the citizens and to mitigate any untoward incidents, in the interest of public safety and the well-being of students, I, Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde, IAS, Collector & District Magistrate, Kataka and Chairperson, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Kataka in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 34 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, do hereby issue the following directions with immediate effect:

All Government, Government-aided, and Private Schools functioning under the territorial jurisdiction of Athagada Sub-Division, shall remain closed on July 17, 2026, and July 18, 2026.

Any violation of this order shall be dealt with strictly under sections 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, and other applicable laws, it added.
