Badrinath Temple donation probe: BKTC suspends employee

Dehradun: Badrinath Temple has started to investigate the donation counting following which one member of the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has been suspended.

This comes following preliminary inquiry during which the possibilities of misconduct was found after initial evidence.

The suspended member is identified as Pramod Nautiyal. He was serving as the private secretary in the temple committee.

The chairman of the committee has stated that there is zero tolerance for people who do corruption and if any staff members do it, proper legal actions will be taken against them.

The probe started after a video showing irregularities during the counting of donations done by the devotees. After that Bhairav Sena organisation submitted a complaint and asked for detailed investigation into this matter.

Following the allegations, Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) formed four members inquiry team. The team includes Legal Officer SS Bartwal, Chief Administrative Officer Rajan Naithani and Kedarnath’s Senior Administrative Officer DS Bhujwan, as per reports.

The CCTB footage of the temple and the counting room is being examined to find out irregularities took place during the handling of donations.

The CCTV cameras of the temple were replaced and the previous footages are safely preserved and will be probed.
