Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, the traffic aid post at Sreeya Square in Bhubaneswar has allegedly turned into a den for drug addicts, with youths reportedly consuming brown sugar inside the facility in broad daylight, even as traffic police personnel were stationed outside.
The incident came to light after Kalinga TV captured exclusive visuals of suspected drug consumption inside the traffic aid post operated by the Commissionerate Police.
According to reports, several youths were allegedly consuming brown sugar inside the traffic post during the daytime. However, upon noticing the Kalinga TV camera, they immediately fled the spot.
The exclusive footage captured by Kalinga TV has raised serious questions about security arrangements and monitoring at the traffic aid post.

What makes the incident particularly alarming is that traffic police personnel were reportedly present outside the facility while the suspected drug consumption was taking place inside.
The incident has also raised concerns about the effectiveness of the Commissionerate Police’s ongoing anti-drug campaigns aimed at curbing narcotics consumption and creating a drug-free society.
While police have been conducting drives against drug trafficking and substance abuse across the Twin City, the alleged misuse of a police facility for consuming narcotics has raised questions about supervision and accountability.
It remains to be seen whether the Commissionerate Police will initiate an inquiry and take action against those involved.
