New Queue Darshan System Coming Up At Puri Srimandira

Puri: The most discussed queued darshan system is coming up soon at the Puri Srimandir in Odisha to ensure smooth and orderly darshan of Mahaprabhu Lord Jagannath.

Under the new system, 10,000 devotees can have darshan per hour. The plan will be implemented in the next 3 to 4 months. Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan informed about this after a high-level meeting held at Lok Seva Bhawan on Monday.

After the meeting, the Law Minister said the plan has been prepared with the aim of making the darshan system more smooth and disciplined, as the number of devotees coming for Mahaprabhu’s darshan is increasing day by day.

Various technical options were presented by IIT Bhubaneswar and discussions were held on preparing its pilot model.

As per the proposed plan, 5 ramps will be constructed from the Garuda Stambha to the Bahara Katha. Around 50 devotees can have darshan at a time on these ramps.

This will reduce the crowd inside the temple and devotees will be able to have darshan easily. Once this system is implemented, 8,000 to 10,000 devotees can have smooth darshan of Mahaprabhu per hour, the Minister said.

The pilot model will be showcased within the next 8 to 10 days and the queue darshan system will be fully implemented within the next 3 to 4 months, informed Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan.
