Daspalla: The routine of everyday life came to an abrupt stop in Daspalla, as the Power Consumers Association organized a 12-hour bandh across town, between 6 AM and 6 PM on Sunday.

The association claimed that frequent, unscheduled power cuts had been troubling them despite several complaints made to the Electricity Department.

The new power grid at Takra, too, is yet to be made functional, and thus continues to pose problems with power supply.

As the bandh brought economic activity in town to a complete halt, all shops, markets, supermarkets, and public & private institutes remained closed.

The locals of Daspalla fully supported the association in their call for a day-long shutdown.

The Power Consumers’ Association declared the shutdown after demands for finding an everlasting solution to the persistent electricity problem went unanswered.
