Notorious Maoist leader with Rs 25 lakh bounty and two associates arrested in Jharkhand

Rourkela: In a major success in the anti-maoist movement, the Jharkhand Police and the CRPF have reportedly arrested notorious Maoist leader Ajay Mahto (alias Tiger) and two of his associates in Giridih district.
The Maoist leader Ajay Mahto is the Zonal Commander for the Parasnath region and a Special Area Committee member of the CPI (Maoist) have a bounty of Rs 25 lakh on his head. He was working as the leader of the maoists in the Saranda forest area.
According to police sources, Ajay Mahto alias ‘Tiger’ was a close associate of top Maoist leader Misir Besra and was active in several states including Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, and West Bengal.

The Jharkhand government had announced a reward of Rs 25 lakh.
The special police team is currently interrogating all three Maoists.
