Cristiano Ronaldo hints at retirement, says this will be his last World Cup

New Delhi: Portugal football team captain Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted his retirement from the game and has confirmed this will be his last World Cup.
This confirmation from the 41-year-old came before the match against Spain took place.
Ronaldo netted twice vs Uzbekistan in the group stage and converted a penalty against Croatia in the Round of 32.With this goal, Ronaldo has scored in six straight World Cups since his debut in 2006 and became the first one to achieve this.

While speaking the legend said, “This will be my last World Cup, but let’s hope tomorrow isn’t my last game,” Ronaldo said. “I don’t think I have had a bad World Cup. I have already scored three goals. Let’s see if I can score another tomorrow.”
Ronaldo is yet to decide whether he will be featuring for his nation or not and he has further added that he alone would decide upon his retirement.
The superstar captain has featured 232 times for the Portuguese nation. Ronaldo is the only international player to hit 146 goals. He has since also helped them conquer the UEFA Nations League twice in 2019 and 2025.
