Youth dies of snakebite in Odisha’s Keonjhar district

Anandpur: In a tragic incident, a youth died on Wednesday after getting bitten by a poisonous snake in Keonjhar district of Odisha. The incident took place in the Belda village in Ghasipura block under Anandpur sub-division of the district.

The deceased has been identified as Sipu, son of Pagala Dehuri of Belda village.

As per reports, Sipu went to bed after eating dinner yesterday night. He awoke and informed his family members at about 3 am that he has been bitten by a poisonous snake when he was sleeping.

Hearing this his family members initially rushed him to the Sainkul hospital. However, as his health condition deteriorated there, the doctors advised the family to shift Sipu to Anandpur hospital. Accordingly he was shifted to Anandpur hospital but by then he had succumbed to snakebite. The doctors there declared him dead after medical examination.

A pal of gloom has descended in the area following death of the youth.
