New Delhi: A deadly accident in Brazil has fueled widespread public condemnation, after a 21-year-old woman of 21 fell to her death during a rope-jumping operation.
The victim, Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, was taking part in an adventure activity held at the Ponte do Esqueleto, also referred to as Skeleton Bridge, located in Limeira, the state of São Paulo.
The young woman was apparently launched from the 40-meter-high bridge, and staff members did not realize that the rope safety attachment was missing from her harness.
Some alleged disturbing videos of the incident can be seen going viral, where those at the scene are screaming about the absent rope seconds after the woman was pushed off the platform.

Six individuals suspected of having connections to the operation have reportedly been detained, while several others are undergoing investigations on charges of homicide on grounds of negligence.
Also being examined is the possibility that the operators may not have had the necessary permits and were not adhering to sufficient safety standards for the operation to take place.
The horrifying nature of the event shocked social media users worldwide, with countless individuals taking to online platforms to urge tighter safety standards and checks for dangerous adventure activities.
The event is further sparking arguments about personal responsibility, as well as the significance of adhering to all safety rules and protocols in extreme sports.
