Maruti Suzuki announces price of Wagon R Flex Fuel

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R Flex Fuel has been announced in India at a price of Rs. 7.24 lakh, ex-showroom. The Wagon R Flex Fuel was introduced last months as India’s first mass-market car to support ethanol blends ranging from E20 all the way up to E85.

Maruti Suzuki has made multiple hardware and software upgrades in the WagonR Flex Fuel compared to a standard petrol model, to make it compatible to be able to run on higher ethanol blends.

The WagonR Flex Fuel comes in the top-end ZXi trim with an array of features. The flex fuel Wagon R ZXi+ trim features a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. The other features on offer include steering-mounted controls, electrically adjustable and folding ORVMs along with six airbags, and fog lamps. It runs on alloy wheels.

The Wagon R Flex Fuel is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine tuned to produce 90bhp and 113.7Nm of peak torque, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox.The company does not the Flex Fuel variant in any automatic option for now.

Compared to the standard petrol ZXi+, the flex fuel variant carries a premium of Rs 85,000. One important caveat for private buyers, the Wagon R Flex Fuel is currently available for commercial use only. It is available in both metallic and non-metallic colour options.

With dispensing outlets currently limited to select locations in Delhi-NCR and the Mumbai-Nagpur corridor, and the government targeting 5,000 outlets by end of 2027, the Wagon R Flex Fuel’s wider reach will depend heavily on how quickly that infrastructure rolls out.
