New Delhi: India’s natural gas supply, restricted by emergency measures restored as geopolitical tensions ease.
The Central Government has removed temporary curbs on the supply of natural gas in response to the eased geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
The emergency regulations were put in place earlier this year after heightened tensions in the Middle East hampered LNG supply through the Strait of Hormuz.
To guarantee the flow of gas to sectors such as city gas networks and fertiliser production, the Indian government has temporarily prohibited the gas supply to a number of industrial users.

Following the announcement, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said in an official statement that the bans were lifted as LNG imports were normalizing.
According to authorities, it signals the increasing certainty that shipments of energy resources from the Middle East have no immediate threats after regional tension subsided.
The government stated that it would maintain its vigilance of international events and take the appropriate steps if new supply issues emerge.
