Man kills daughter inside police station over love marriage in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: An honour killing incident took place inside the police station in which father kills his daughter because she did love marriage in Banda district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday.

The victim of the honour killing is identified as Shivani, a 19-year-old woman.

The incident took place when the woman refused to leave her husband with whom she got married in a temple. She also had valid registered marriage documents with her and said she married the man on her own free will.

However, due to 19-year-old woman’s refusal of not leaving her husband and go home with them. The parents allegedly attacked her with a knife. The mother was holding her while the father stabbed her.

During the attack she sustained injuries on abdomen, arm and palm. Shivani was rushed to a hospital for treatment during which she succumbed to her injuries.

The parents of the woman had lodged a complaint that the woman is missing after which search operation took place. She was found and it was learned that she is now married. She was taken to the police station for questioning.

Shivani and her husband both went to the police station and the parents were also called.

Attempts were made to convince Shivani to leave her husband and go home with them. But due to refusal she was attacked after which she died.

The father of the woman has been arrested by the police. A case has been registered in the relevant sections.

Further investigation into this matter is underway.
