One dead, over 15 injured in pilgrim bus accident on NH-16 in Balasore

Sora: A bus carrying more than 50 pilgrims collided with a truck parked by the road side near Adirupa petrol pump on National Highway 16 under Soro police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district on Sunday morning. A person reportedly died, and over 15 others were gravely injured in the bus accident.

The bus was reportedly carrying pilgrims from Tamil Nadu. The bus was returning from Digha to Puri when it rammed into the truck near the petrol pump, resulting in the death of the driver of the vehicle. The accident took place at around 5.30 am

The locals informed the police about the accident. Upon geeting information from local residents, police and Fire Service personnel rushed to the accident site and launched a rescue operation. The injured passengers were rescued and shifted to the Soro hospital for treatment.
