JD Vance rejects proposal to send Indian peacekeepers to Ukraine

New Delhi: JD Vance, the Vice President of the United States, has rejected calls to involve the Indian army in a potential peacekeeping effort in Ukraine post an eventual ceasefire agreement with Russia.
JD Vance has pointed out the unfeasibility of expecting India to commit soldiers to an active conflict zone, stating that nations would hesitate to place their men in a theatre with undefined security assurances.
Western governments are also considering potential peace arrangements that would help in preserving a cease-fire between Moscow and Kyiv, should a peace deal be attained.

New Delhi’s stance on the Ukraine war has been neutral thus far, as India had requested both parties to pursue dialogue and diplomacy to settle the ongoing war.
Vice President JD Vance’s statement comes amid an extensive debate on the involvement of nations, should any, in a future peacekeeping mission in Ukraine.
