Sudarsan Pattnaik creates unique sand art of Goddess Durga with 32 varieties of fruits and vegetables

Puri: International Renowned sand artist and Padma Shri awardee Sudarsan Pattnaik has extended his heartfelt Durga Puja greetings to the people of Odisha and the nation through a unique sand sculpture of Goddess Durga on Puri Beach.

Marking the auspicious occasion of Sharadiya Durga Puja, Pattnaik created an impressive 10-foot-tall sand sculpture of Maa Durga using eight tonnes of sand, along with 32 varieties of vegetables and fruits.

The artwork features 22 varieties of vegetables and 10 varieties of fruits, showcasing the artist’s creativity and innovative approach to celebrating the festival. The distinctive use of natural produce adds a special touch to the sculpture, blending artistic expression with the festive spirit.

Through this remarkable creation, Pattnaik conveyed his warm wishes to people across Odisha and the rest of the country, celebrating the devotion, joy and cultural significance associated with Durga Puja.

The sculpture at Puri Beach once again highlights the renowned artist’s ability to combine creativity and cultural traditions to mark important occasions through sand art.
