Twin city receives heavy rainfall, warning issued for Odisha for next four days

Bhubaneswar: Twin city of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack have been battered with heavy rainfall on Thursday ahead of a fresh low-pressure area that is expected to develop over the Bay of Bengal on Friday.
According to the regional Meteorological Centre, the a fresh low-pressure area will be formed over the North-West Bay of Bengal and its adjoining area. This will strengthen the South-West monsoon.
Currently, a cyclonic storm is active over the North Bay of Bengal and adjoining coast of Bangladesh. This will likely intensify into a low-pressure.

Odisha is likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall for the next four days starting Thursday. The regions likely to experience heavy rainfall span across northern, southern coastal, and western districts of the state.
In view of the heavy rainfall, the schools in Kandhamal has been closed for two days.
